For the enterprise economy and generally for our Country, technological and chemical research, aimed to new production ways, represents the engine for the development of several sectors included the production of industrial packaging.
The raw materials transformation, within the plastic supply chain and their management of end-of-life products, is a very important topic for the enterprises as key-factors that play increased importance in their development policies.
But taking innovative ways requires significant investments and deep conviction by the enterprise. This is, in fact, exactly the way that Selene has been undertaking since about 10 years: first of all through the development of Selene Quality Recycling – SQR, the division of R&D laboratory that studies processes and raw materials to improve the environmental impact of the industrial production.
SQR - Selene Quality Recycling: where the future was born
Selene Quality Recycling – SQR carries out control, analysis and development activities in order to increase the sustainability of the company’s products. The actions of the SQR Laboratory are focused on researching new raw materials and on the validation of efficient production processes with limited waste production. The SQR Laboratory makes use of advanced infrastructural, instrumental and engineering equipments with particular reference of diagnosing for the production qualification, analysis and evaluation of the chemical transformations to which the recovered and reused raw materials are subject.
The Laboratory work
SQR – Selene Quality Recycling develops, applies and approves diagnostic methods for the characterization and enhancement of products, quick screening analysis, controls and production optimization, certification of products and processes, control on PRP transformation and production effects.
Skilled jobs employed
The people who work for SQR Laboratory have chemical and technological skills and are specialized in blown film extrusion technologies, solvent flexographic printing and they know the ASTM and ISO methods by implementing them regularly through the use of Laboratory sophisticated instruments.
They carry out analysis and lab tests on the products at each stage of processing, from the recovery and selection of the raw material PRP – Premium Recycled Polymer – to the final product.
They constantly check the compliance with the quality standards of the raw materials and products, cooperating in the development of production records.
They check the processes to identify margins for qualitative production improvements, from the classification of the films at the entrance to the process up to their mixture definition in order to produce the PRP and to identify the best bills of materials with the use of PRP in the production of finished packaging in the NextBag™ and NextHood™ version.
Highly specialized professional figures who aim to ensure that what will be placed on the market is an absolutely safe and proven quality product.
