Selection and control, the keystones to classify the parameters of Selene sustainable quality.
The PRP - Premium Recycled Polymer - is the ultimate goal of several very selective processes and evaluations that SQR - Selene Quality Recycling - carries out. This is why the use of Recycled Polymer should not penalize the quality performance of the packaging in any way. But which are the quality parameters of the PRP - Premium Recycled Polymer? What kind of tests and checks should it pass successfully?
Here is a summary of what is evaluated.
Selection and control of the PE film used at the entrance.
The recovered material, which is the mainly percentage base, is checked at the entrance by Selene staff so that it does not highlight characteristics to compromise the quality of the recycling.
Control on the pureness of the washed flakes.
After all de-inking operations, the pureness of the coloring degree flake is evaluated. It is important at this stage that the flake does not show dye traces and it is perfectly clean.
Density and granule coloring control
After regeneration of the washed flake, the density and granule coloring are measured in accordance with the production data sheets.
Melt Flow Index
After regeneration of the washed flake, all MFI measurements are also carried out in accordance with the expected production data sheets
Control of the oxidative degradation level
The SQR Laboratory uses advanced infrastructural, instrumental and plant engineering equipments with particular reference to diagnostic for qualification of production, analysis and chemical transformations evaluation to which the recovered raw material is subjected.
