Selene alongside ExxonMobil for K22 with the production of FFS tubulars deriving from SUP recycling.

Selene, thanks to its many years of experience and know-how in blown extrusion, has made it possible to create a new FFS tubular packaging for industrial bags with high performance and technical quality, deriving from the recycled granule produced by Stand Up Pouches (SUP) in mono-material.

This operation is part of the K22 project which sees ExxonMobil Chemical as its leader and the co-participation of Hosokawa Alpine, Henkel, Nordmeccanica Group, Univel and Erema Group.

“We are proud to be on board together with the other partners in this important project of sustainable production of industrial flexible packaging - comments Luca Massari, Selene R&D Manager -. With our partners for the K22 project we processed the recycled granule deriving from SUP and produced a new concept of mono-material packaging. Another project in line with the desire to produce more and more sustainable packaging."

The project is part of a broader collaboration relationship that sees Selene alongside ExxonMobil in the development of circular production processes for the recovery of secondary raw materials.
